Alani means orange in Hawaiian. This design was born out of our love for the orange flowers used extensively in Indian traditional ceremonies, also known as genda phool. The floral embroidery is traditional from north India, and is inspired by the inscriptional work on some of India’s most famous monuments.
This design has aari and zardozi hand embroidery done on it using black resham thread, with a sprinkling of silver mirrors. Each pair takes an artisan 8-9 hours to complete.
